bisque doll Antique. Armand Merseille 14” Composition Body Composition A.3/ox.m

Description

Upper auction is another Armand Marsai doll. She has a bisque face with blue glass eyes that open and shut when you lay her down. She’s painted on eyelashes and eyebrows and lips. She’s marked with an 8.3/0X.M mold number 390 and I believe it says Germany under her wig. My mother must’ve been fond of Armand Marsai dolls. Her body feels like papier-mâché or composition. Her arms and legs are wood painted the same color as the body. And the lower legs in the lower arms I thought were composition but they could be wood as well. I think they are composition and insert it on top of a wooden joint. The toes and fingers are intact there’s no cracks other than in the paint. See photos for detail. There’s a nail or something in her belly button. I’m not familiar with that. Her body is very light weight. Her hair is a mohair wig that’s rather matted. But she’s a beautiful doll. She has an open mouth with four tees and a dimple on her chin as is customary with many Armand Marseille dolls. Well dolls need to be cleaned. And you can tell her face is dirty. She still in chanting.
My Mom suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. She was an avid Doll collector, Doll Doctor, Bear maker, fabric queen. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She spent many hours dismembering her doll collection. So I am putting dolls (or portions of dolls) up for bid. I am  not a doll collector, so I am describing these doll heads, arms etc the best I can. Keen eyes will know more then I do. I usually do know bisque from composition, from plastic. Sadly the bodies are not matched up with the heads. So this is like a treasure hunt. All items sold as is. I will adjust listings as I am given more information.
