We source these pure copper nuggets from a supplier that mines them from the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Our supplier custom makes these for us without the clear coating. Virtually all other copper nuggets sold by other sellers are coated with a clear spray paint coating to prevent them from tarnishing green over time as natural copper does. Who wants spray paint coating on their prized mineral specimens? Not me! Only the best products for our customers!
A few times a year just use a little copper cleaner to remove the green oxidation or apply your own clear spray coating if desired.
